I am a board-certified psychiatrist in private practice in New York City and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. I treat children, adolescents, and adults, drawing on training in both psychoanalysis and cognitive behavioral therapy so that I can understand a problem in more than one way rather than fitting everyone to a single method.
I work in whatever combination of psychotherapy and medication fits the person in front of me — for some that is talk therapy alone, for others careful medication management, and often both. I keep a deliberately small practice so that I can give each patient unhurried attention and remain personally reachable.
I treat the full range of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan — from anxiety, depression, and ADHD to mood, obsessive-compulsive, and more complex presentations — in children, adolescents, and adults.
Insight-oriented work, grounded in fellowship training in psychoanalysis, for patterns that recur over time.
Structured, skills-based treatment for anxiety, depression, and related conditions.
Thoughtful prescribing, with attention to benefit, side effects, and your own preferences about medication.
The initial appointment is a chance for me to get to know you, perform an evaluation, and decide together on the appropriate course of treatment. The initial evaluation usually runs about 90 minutes — either one extended visit or two 45-minute sessions; ongoing sessions are typically 45 minutes.
I see patients both in my office and by telehealth. To make the most of your first visit, please complete the new patient package in advance — the office will send you the appropriate link — and have a photo of the front and back of your insurance card ready to upload or email.
My practice is out-of-network by design. Working outside insurance lets me give each patient the time their care requires, without external limits on the length, frequency, or focus of treatment.
Upon request, I am glad to provide a superbill — an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Please contact the office with any questions about fees before your first appointment.
